Ellen Levine, PT

Ellen became Director after the retirement of her mentor and founder of the Back Clinic, Helen M. Abrams, Med. P.T.   Ellen is a 1979 graduate of the University of Delaware. She has been practicing physical therapy for over 20 years.  She is Bylaws chairperson for the Delaware Physical Therapy Association.

Julia Kegelman, DPT

Dr. Julia Kegelman started at The Back Clinic in April 2007. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Delaware in December 2006.  At that time this program was ranked 4th in the nation. This rigorous program gave Julia a solid foundation for future specialization and training in outpatient orthopedic clients.

With support from The Back Clinic, Dr. Kegelman began pursuing certification as a Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) in September 2007.  Seeking this distinction will enhance her ability to diagnose and treat all varieties of movement dysfunctions that lead to pain.      
            
Outside the clinic, Julia is an avid ‘enjoyer of movement.’  She is faithful to her ever evolving gym routine and hikes in the local parks at least once a week.

Carole Jennings

Carole Jennings is our Senior Physical Therapists Assistant. She has been employed at The Back Clinic since 1989. She has celebrated 20 years of service at the clinic! Carole is a 1989 graduate of the Delaware Technical and Community College with an Associate in Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant. Carole's special interests include aquatics and strain/counter strain techniques. Carole is also certified as a pool operator by the State of Delaware.

Nancy Lagowski

Nancy G. Lagowski has been a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at The Back Clinic since June of 1996. She began her second career soon after graduating from Dell Tech Community College with an Associate of Arts in Physical Therapy Assisting in May of 1996.

Before going into the field of Physical Therapy, Nancy earned her Associate of Arts Degree in Business Management from Goldey Beacom College in May of 1978. She used these skills working for DuPont in their finance department for 18 years before deciding to change her career.

While working at The Back Clinic, Nancy has discovered and nurtured her innate talent of touch. In March 2004 she received her certification in Massage Therapy from the State of Delaware. Over the years her special interests have become myofacial release, craniosacral therapy, maitland joint mobilization and working with sufferers of fibromyalgia.
